The Pilot Corporation was established in Japan in 1918 as the "Namiki Manufacturing Company," and their first mechanical pencil was produced about 9 years later. In the late 1930s, the company was renamed PILOT Pen Co. and began manufacturing more pen types such as ballpoints, rollerballs, whiteboard markers, and many more.
The Pilot brand expands, establishing new manufacturing facilities and corporations, becoming an internationally recognised brand.
Pilot is a well-known brand among both adults and children for its Frixion erasable ink pens and Hi-Techpoint Fineliners. And is now focusing on enhancing its environmental policies receiving an EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) qualification, a highly selective award.
